Belajar dari Kata Bijak "Becik Ketitik, Ala Ketara" oleh MasKatnoGiri

Becik Ketitik, Ala Ketara  merupakan peribahasa  atau bisa disebut sebagai kalimat bijak bahasa Jawa. Kalau dipikir secara mendalam kalimat becik ketitik olo ketoro merupakan ajaran yang luar biasa. Namun, kalimat tersebut perlu juga diperjelas bahwa kebajikan ( Jawa; kebecikan) adalah bukan kesimpulan dari  ukuran manusia, tapi kebaikan yang bersumber dari kebaikan Allah s.w.t. Sebab jika kebaikan yang disimpulkan manusia sering salah kaprah, karena dalam menyimpulkan sesuatu manusia masih dilatarbelakangai kehendak-kehendak negatif (hawa nafsu).

Dari sebagian manusia mengartikan becik ketitik ala ketara adalah jika suatu keburukan ditutup-tutupi maka lambat laun ia akan muncul juga, dan sepandai-pandainya menyimpan bangkai busuk, maka lama-lama baunya akan tercium juga atau terkadang orang menyimpulkan bahwasannya hal2 yang baik dari seseorang hampir tidak pernah terlihat, sementara hanya keburukan-keburukan orang tersebut yang diperhatikan".Dimana setiap orang ada sisi baik dan sisi buruknya tetapi yang selalu diperhatikan hanyalah keburukan dan keburukannya saja, tanpa pernah melihat sisi kebaikannya.

Dalam konteks yang lebih luas bahwasanya setiap kebaikan  dan keburukan  tidak selamanya  terungkap di dunia  namun, pasti ada balasan di akherat.

MasKatnoGiri mengucapkan selamat bagi orang  yang memiliki kecerdasan spiritual tinggi, mereka  terkadang tidak peduli tentang falsafah jawa "becik ketitik ala ketara", namun mereka yakin bahwa Allah Maha Melihat. Orang yang bertaqwa adalah orang luar biasa  yang tanpa ragu-ragu berbuat kebaikan dan menghindari keburukan. Orang yang baik (baca:Taqwa) tak pernah pokil,  bahkan tak tersirat menyimpan keburukan, keselamatan diri dan orang lain mereka jaga.

Bagi yang saat ini masih asyik dengan keburukan  tanpa peduli nilai-nilai kebecikan, mereka hanya mengejar  kepuasan hawa nafsu, tentu MasKatnoGiri merasa prihatin dan berdoa semoga Allah memberi petunjuk bagi dirinya sendiri. Bagi yang nekat kita akan saksikan atau mungkin kita harus sabar untuk menyaksikan bahwa Allah berkuasa menjadikan mereka kaum "PENGEJAR HAWA NAFSU" akan terpuruk.

DI BUTUHKAN GURU IDEAL (NEEDED AN IDEAL TEACHER)

By  a force  or by an accident MasKatnoGiri  has become a teacher. Even though he is far from perfect, but he must learn to be better. He knows that there is no a perfect teacher. But for students, they need an idealism. The students hope that they can  have an ideal teacher one day.  

The students need to be better,  they are still waiting for  the attendance of an ideal teacher. The students should be educated to achieve qualified life. So an ideal teacher should have many qualities. A student remembers such a teacher for long. The effect of his personality on students lasts long. An ideal teacher is the one who is loved and respected by every student. He must try to win the hearts of all students. He should try to establish a kind of relationship and bond between the hearts and minds of himself and the students.

An Ideal teacher should be a scholar. He must have the knowledge of the subject he teaches in the class. He should teach the subjects in a interesting way. He should be able to make the students really interested in their subject. An ideal teacher should express well, should have a good voice and must have love for teaching. The students should feel that their minds are growing under his teaching. An ideal teacher deals with the subject well. He makes his subject interesting too.

An ideal teacher is the one who makes his students think and enhances their creativity. He not only passes information to them but also develops love for learning. He activates the minds of his students. He teaches them how to think and grow logical power. He brings into play the hidden mental powers of students. He must be a man of ideas. He should explain things in a scholarly and interesting way.

An ideal teacher is ideal in all respects. He does not use words of learned lengths. He does not use difficult sentences. His language must be clear, easy and simple so that students may understand it. His teachings should be a tonic to the mind. An ideal teacher should be self respecting man. Thus his students also acquire self-respect and dignity from him.

An ideal teacher must be a man of culture. He should have a sense of duty and responsibility. He should be honest to himself, to his students and to his profession. Man making is the central function of an ideal teacher. He is an engineer of the soul. In other words, an ideal teacher is a student's friend, philosopher and guide.

Students do not like an unsympathetic and harsh teacher. They can judge the real worth of a teacher within no time. They can make sacrifice for their teacher, if he has created that much self confidence in them. They worship a teacher who always remain impartial and treats all his students alike. The worth of a teacher is not measures by the number of suits he owns, but by the amount of help which he renders to his students. If he is fearless, earnest and sincere in the discharge of his duties and is sympathetic towards his students, then he is bound to be an object of the devotion and admiration of students.

 A teacher who always finds faults with the work of his students in any task and schold them a lot is an object of fear for them. Such a teacher is respected by the students from outwards only, he is not respected by the students from the bottom of their hearts. He is only respected fakely for a time interval when he is in front of the students and that too is due to fear and not actual respect or gratitude. In their childish games and youthful vigor students do not like checks. If anyone is strict and does not allow them freedom, he becomes an object of their criticism. So, the question of the selection of an ideal teacher does not rise. He is enshrined in the hearts of his students.

MasKatnoGiri  had the good fortune of studying. All the teachers were admired by some and criticized by others. Those who were hard working and hard task masters were loved and respected by sincere students. Such students showered their praises on those who were lenient and did not cared if the students worked or not.

AKHLAQ BAIK MODAL HIDUP SEHAT

Voice of Wonogiri (VoW)  MasKatnoGiri mengutip salah satu dari artikel detikhealth dan dari beberapa sumber terpercaya bahwa peran kebaikan budi pekerti  atau akhlaq memang benar- benar  berdampak positif terhadap kesehatan.

Salah satu kunci agar bisa memiliki tubuh yang sehat adalah menjalani hidup ini dengan bahagia. Untuk mendapatkan hidup yang sehat dan bahagia, ada beberapa hal yang sebaiknya dilakukan dan dimiliki.

Kunci kebahagiaan adalah dengan melakukan perubahan termasuk mengubah sedikit hal-hal yang biasa dilakukan setiap harinya. Perubahan sederhana ini akan berdampak pada kehidupan yang dijalaninya.

Berikut ini beberapa hal yang sebaiknya dilakukan dan dimiliki jika ingin hidup bahagia dan sehat, seperti dikutip dari Timesofindia, Sabtu (8/9/2012) yaitu:

1. Selalu bersyukur

Rasa syukur terhadap Allah s.w.t  ditandai dengan menghargai apa saja yang dimiliki. Cobalah menghitung hal positif dan bersyukur atas apa yang dimiliki saat ini. Berhentilah mengeluh sehingga tetap merasa senang dengan apa yang sudah dimiliki.

2. Optimis

Kegagalan adalah kesempatan seseorang untuk mempelajari sesuatu sehingga dapat berbuat lebih baik nantinya. Selain itu optimisme juga dapat mengurangi stres yang secara otomatis berdampak terhadap kesehatan.

3. Hindari perbandingan

Tidak ada orang yang senang dibandingkan dengan orang lain dalam hal apa pun, karena hal ini tidak sehat baik untuk psikologis maupun fisik seseorang. Hal terbaik yang dilakukan adalah melakukan perbaikan diri secara efektif.

4. Melakukan kebaikan

Membantu seseorang tanpa pamrih bisa melepaskan serotonin dari dalam otak, serotonin adalah hormon yang mengendalikan suasana hati karenanya melakukan kebaikan bisa membuat seseorang merasa lebih baik, serta meningkatkan kualitas kesehatan karena membantu mengluarkan racun dari tubuh dan mengurangi depresi.

5. Memaafkan

Kebencian adalah perasaan negatif yang tidak memiliki manfaat apa-apa selain efek negatif bagi tubuh dan pikiran seseorang. Jadi, berhenti berpikir tentang emosi kebencian dan tanamkan jiwa memaafkan yang dapat mempengaruhi sistem tubuh dan kesehatan.

6. Peduli dengan tubuh sendiri

Mencintai diri sendiri akan membuat seseorang peduli dengan tubuhnya dan diketahui kondisi fisik akan memiliki koneksi langsung dengan kesejahteraan. Tubuh yang fit dan pikiran yang sehat akan mencerminkan kebahagiaan. Mulailah bekerja menuju energi fisik, mental dan emosional yang sehat dengan merawat tubuh sendiri.

Memahami Interest ,Interested dan Interesting

Interest,Interested  dan Interesting

Dalam bahasa Inggris sering kita temui kata-kata yang hampir mirip namun berbeda cara pengunaanya. Diantaranya adalah Interest, Interested dan Interesting.

Interest adalah  bisa menjadi kata kerja (verb)/ kata benda  (noun), jika intersest sebuah kata kerj verb (interest, interested, interested), yang berarti “menarik perhatian, menarik hati atau membuat tertarik“. Selain sebagai verb, interest juga sebuah noun yang berarti minat, suku bunga bank, dan atas nama. Untuk menjadikannya sebagai adjective, bule menggunakan bentuk verb3 atau past participle dari interest (yaitu: interested) dan bentuk present participle dari interest (yaitu: interesting), yang berturut-turut berarti tertarik dan menarik. Lalu, dapatkah kita menggunakannya sebagai adverb? Yes. Di sini kita hanya perlu menambahkan –ly ke adjective tadi sehingga menjadi interestedly (= dengan tertarik(nya)) dan interestingly (= dengan menarik; menariknya).

Sekarang saya punya kalimat begini: “Kebanyakan petani Indonesia masih menggunakan kerbau atau sapi untuk menarik bajak.” My question is benarkah kalau kalimat ini ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris menjadi, “Most of Indonesian farmers still use buffaloes or cows for interesting a plow.”?

Sebelum menjawab pertanyaan ini, mari kita diskusikan dulu penggunaan interest, interested, interesting, interestedly, dan interestingly.

A. Interest sebagai verb.

Pola penggunaan verb interest tidak berbeda dengan pola penggunaan verb lainnya, yaitu:

S + V + O

And of course, bentuk verb-nya harus disesuaikan dengan tensis yang digunakan.

Contoh:

1. Does that picture interest you? (Apakah foto itu menarik perhatianmu?).
2. Yes, it does interest me. In fact, it had interested me before you saw it. (Ya, foto itu menarik perhatianku. Sebenarnya, foto itu telah menarik perhatianku sebelum kamu melihatnya).
3. Does your project interest him? (Apakah proyekmu menarik perhatiannya?)
4. No, my project does not interest him (Tidak, proyekku tidak menarik perhatiannya).
5. When I was a senior high student, a girl in my class interested me deeply. (Ketika aku seorang murid SMA, seorang cewek di kelasku sangat menarik hatiku).

B. Interest sebagai noun.

Seperti disinggung sebelumnya, interest juga merupakan sebuah noun, yang berarti minat, bunga bank dan atas nama. Posisinya bisa sebagai subject maupun object kalimat, berturut-turut dengan mengikuti phrase berikut,

Interest + in/of + noun/pronoun

Interest + rate atau rate of interest

In the interest(s) of + noun/pronoun

NOTE:

• Noun di phrase 1 adalah optional. Kalau interest diikuti oleh noun maka dibutuhkan preposision in atau of. Kalau diikuti oleh verb, maka verb-nya dalam bentuk gerund. Sebaliknya, kalau tidak diikuti oleh noun, preposition in atau of tidak diperlukan.
• Interest di phrase 2 umumnya difungsikan sebagai adjective.
• In the interest(s) of di phrase 3 bermakna sama dengan “on behalf of”.

Contoh:

1. Do you have any interest in investing your money in our project?. (Apakah anda punya minat untuk menginvestasikan uang anda di proyek kami?)
2. Sorry, I don’t have any interest. (Maaf, aku tidak punya minat (untuk menginvestasikan uangku di proyek anda)).
3. Interest of people in visiting our blog increases steadily. (Minat orang untuk mengunjungi blog kami terus meningkat).
4. When the interest rate rises, more people will save their money in the banks. (Ketika suku bunga naik, lebih banyak orang yang akan nabung uangnya di bank).
5. In the interests of all Indonesian people, we strongly demand that the government eradicate all types of corruptions taking place in Indonesia. (Atas nama semua penduduk Indonesia, kami dengan keras menuntut bahwa pemerintah (harus) memberantas semua tipe korupsi yang terjadi di Indonesia).

C. Interested vs Interesting

Terjemahan langsung kalimat-kalimat di poin A terasa janggal bukan? Yes. Sebenarnya, interest sebagai verb tidak begitu sering digunakan. Yang lebih umum digunakan adalah bentuk verb3 (interested) dan bentuk present participle (interesting), yang masing-masing mengikuti pola sbb:

S + be + interested in + noun

S + be + interesting noun

NOTE:

• Noun di kedua pola ini adalah optional.
• Jika interested diikuti oleh noun maka dibutuhkan preposision in.
• Jika in diikuti oleh verb, verb tersebut harus dalam bentuk gerund.
• Kapan kita gunakan bentuk verb3 dan kapan kita gunakan bentuk verb-ing dapat anda baca di topik Penggunaan Verbs sebagai Adjectives.

Contoh:

1. Is that picture interesting? (Apakah foto itu menarik?).
2. Yes, it is very interesting. (Ya, foto itu sangat menarik).
3. Are you interested in investing your money in our project?. (Apakah anda tertarik untuk menginvestasikan uang anda di proyek kami?)
4. Sorry, I am not interested. (Maaf, aku tidak tertarik).
5. When I was a senior high student, I was deeply interested in a girl in my class. Do you know why? It’s because she was a very interesting girl. (Ketika aku seorang siswa SMA, aku sangat tertarik pada seorang cewek di kelasku. Tahu kenapa? Karena dia seorang cewek yang sangat menarik).

D. Interestedly vs Interestingly.

Fungsi adverb adalah untuk menerangkan verb, bukan? Yes, begitu pula interestedly dan interestingly.

Contoh:

1. We all have probably known that Ryan is gay. Interestingly, he is planning to marry a lady named Ely Winarya. (Kita semua barangkali telah tahu bahwa Ryan adalah gay. Menariknya, dia sedang berencana untuk mengawini seorang wanita yang bernama Ely Winarya )
2. Our mother tongue is Indonesian. Interestingly, students’ average grade for the Indonesian language course was lower than that of the English course. (Bahasa ibu kita adalah Bahasa Indonesia. Menariknya, nilai rata-rata siswa untuk pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia adalah lebih rendah daripada nilai pelajaran Bahasa Inggris).
3. When the news on TV said that a lot of  fish fell from the sky, we looked at the TV screen very interestedly. (Ketika berita di TV bilang banyak ikan berjatuhan dari langit, kami melihat layar TV dengan sangat tertarik(nya).
